About Kevin:
Kevin Waltz is driven by a commitment to safeguarding free speech as he runs for Congress in NY-20. Currently, Kevin is pursuing a Juris Doctorate at Albany Law School, and has a passion for constitutional law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany. Simultaneously, he serves as a part-time Legislative Aide in the New York State Assembly. Kevin grew up, and lives in the Town of Guilderland and attended Guilderland High School.
The catalyst for Kevin's entry into public office was an incident during his college years, when he served as the Vice President of the College Republicans and Turning Point USA at the University at Albany.
Unfortunately, he witnessed firsthand the suppression of free speech on campus. It was during a free speech event on campus that was disrupted and vandalized by a woke leftist mob. The speaker and club members were threatened, and radical left wing protestors even tore pages out of a Bible at the event. That night, Kevin, and his classmates needed an armed police escort off campus to ensure their safety. This incident illuminated for Kevin the urgent need to defend our constitutional rights against the left’s assault and stop the indoctrination of our students.
Kevin recognizes that the silencing of free speech that is happening on college campuses across America is trickling down into our high schools as well. Our education system is faltering under skewed priorities, emphasizing DEI over essential subjects like math and science, contributing to a generation being taught to harbor animosity towards America. It is vital that our schools are held accountable.
However, instead of investing in education in New York, our foundation aid is being cut, and instead New York is giving $2.4 billion to the migrant crisis in NYC, straining our precious resources. As your Congressman, Kevin pledges to eliminate this crisis at its source by introducing legislation that would permanently secure our southern border.
With a background in management and leadership roles, Kevin's skill set is comprehensive and well-suited for the dynamic environment of Congress. His dedication to addressing economic challenges, reversing outward migration, and preserving our constitutional liberties sets him apart as a promising choice for NY-20. Furthermore, Kevin served as Editor-in-Chief of The Hudsonian Student Newspaper, highlighting his proficiency in managing complex responsibilities, resolving issues, and implementing disciplinary measures when necessary. These leadership qualities are invaluable in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of Congress.
Addressing the issues of inflation and the rising cost of living, Kevin is determined to reverse the trend of outward migration from our state. His goal is to ensure that working-class citizens can still aspire to achieve the American dream.
Kevin is an unwavering supporter of our Second Amendment rights, standing firm against encroachments designed to restrict freedoms. Supporting law enforcement and first responders is paramount to Kevin’s platform. In a time when an agenda against law enforcement prevails, Kevin is committed to funding law enforcement in New York and across the nation, recognizing the critical role they play in ensuring our communities' safety. And he will always fight to support our men and women in blue.
Kevin recognizes that there has been an attack on our courts systems. Instead of prosecuting criminals, our taxpayer dollars are being spent on bogus prosecutions, weaponizing the Department of Justice against our Republican Leaders, churchgoers and even parents. Kevin stands firm against the corruption within the executive branch and will fight to hold them accountable.
Kevin envisions raising his future family in New York, but recognizes the need to address the challenges posed by recent Democratic policies. To ensure the preservation of liberty and the Republican legacy, Kevin Waltz stands ready to represent NY-20 with diligence and integrity.
